New Look @ The Met Salon Kuala Lumpur

Stick in the mud is what I call myself..... Not only am I lazy to try something new especially when it comes to clothes, but also my HAIR! When I am set on something, I usually won't change because I find it a hassle and am afraid it will turn out to be a disaster...Think about it...hair is not like your eyebrows or er....leg hair(for those who have them....yes talking about girls out there), it doesn't grow back that fast and worst of all...its highly visible!!!! Anyway, due to insistence from a friend of mine at The Met, which I have been going to since stepping into their salon, I have decided to actually "try" to change my look.......weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee~ The sky does fall sometimes.....

Yes, been told several times by the Met staff to Worship my hair..... because I walk in with unruly hair and they sigh....

Greeted by runway style mirrors

And heaps of magazine I will definitely read! All my favourites...

The state of my hair..all tangled and frizzy when I walked in...I got the "tsk tsk" you should have come in earlier look....sorry!!!

Time for a scrub a dub...comfy lying down on their chair and getting the best head massages I have had in my life!

All wrapped up in a turban... maybe I should try going bald one day...what do you think?

See that protest look on my face... I went.."What? Cut so much?". Alex being kind said "yes, because your hair is all tangled up at the end" . It was his polite way of saying...your hair CANNOT be saved!lol!

After a long overdue cut, it was time to color my hair...teehee! I love their hair color because The Met has close ties with the Redken Lab in New York... And I was impressed after my first dye there because they have the latest colors...Up to date! Not like alot of the older, more auntie salons....Not naming names....*winks*

Redken products galore!!!!!Huge fan! Got hooked on it that I insisted on buying only Redken hair products in the USA!

My friend "Teng" behind me is a certified professional hair colorist! She only colors hair and she does a GREAT job! She doesn't need to ask me what I want because I live it up to her everytime she touches my hair.... And she has been trained all over the world(e.g., China, Australia, Singapor and the list goes on)

Ben decided to give The Met a try... I insisted he did because I told him Alex had magic fingers...wanted to change him from an uncle...to....

Ta-da! A young, trendy looking guy:)

Side view

As for lil ol me.......

My hair cut + color turned me from an ugly duckling to a swan(or I would like to think...hehehehe)!!!!

In the sunlight.... The cut made my hair look so nice and soft and  the color brought out my features !!! One satisfied customer here!

I have been meaning to write about the Met for awhile now because I was very impressed by the service, professionalism and amazing knowledge on hair....Through them, I have actually started taking more care of my hair.... They know what cut and color suits every face shape because they have specialists just for cutting and coloring. It's not your typical salon where one person does all, this salon has different people who specialize in a certain area to tend to your hair:) Plus, they not only know how to cut an Asian person's hair but also westerners. Hence, they attract an eclectic crowd of Malaysians and foreigners! This is what I call CLASS!

Some French Elegance - Kronenbourg 1664 Night Fashion show

So many fashion shows, so little time eh? But NO NO NO! Us girls must keep up to date with the fashion trends(actually I try too, but seem to always fall short with a big SPLAT!), what more with some of the latest French fashion hitting KL like a storm! *Phew* I am glad I got to attend the French Fashion soiree held in Pavilion recently and now,get to share the latest season's trends with you!!!!:)

Once you take a look at the center court of Pavilion, many guests and bystanders are probably taken in by the sight of the Parisian streets in front of them...

The Walkway was litted by lamp lights that resembled the cobbled stone streets of France...

Th line up of events for THE WEEK! All the latest fashion and accessories were sponsored by Morgan De toi, Celio and Thierry Mugler which were also opening their Flagship store in Malaysia! You know where to get your little berets don't you? ~Jetaime~

What is a French Fashion soiree without the best selling super premium French Beer Kronenbourg? Nothing! Why?Because Kronenbourg was the official sponsor of the event....

You even have cute servers dressed in French inspired outfits greeting you..... All the guys drooling once they see this pic! I know!:p

With all the other hot Fashionistas attending the event

And er......Fashionable Tim? Is that French besides the bottle he is holding?

Just had to show you guys this photo, love the candid yet "off the cuff" feel...Thanks to chrystal :)

Besides mingling with the elite crowd in attendance and drinking premium French Beer, guests were also treated to cartoon versions of themselves...what do I mean??? Caricature portraits of themselves....hehe...aaww sarah looks er....cute doesn't she??? Which one cuter? Of course the personlar:p(No, she didn't pay me to write this)
Again, busy bee me left early as I had to emcee another event right after....darn it...why didn't I just get hired to emcee this one instead???? sobs*

But don't fret, I still have pictures for you which I stole from others.....I just like you guys that much to go the extra mile....

My NO. 1 because it's so cute...can you imagine sitting by the streets in Paris , sipping your cappucino(or tea for lil ol me) and wearing this? swoon~

For the ultimate, "Look at me outfit" while strutting down the streets of Paris

An outfit you can wear that transitions from day to night

For the sexier looks.....we have....

This outfit...which you can wear during the day with a jacket too...

Ultimate city girl look with the sexiness oozing out by it's wearer(Could just be you I'm talking about)!

Sexy! What more with the gloves...that takes it up another notch!

There was also a best dress male and female award that was given out! And it goes to................................

Stephanie Chua, Glad you won babe! Her French inspired fringe was a clincher for me, gave the air of sophistication...bonjour madamoiselle...:)

Kee Hua Chee for best dressed male...I would have given it to him not just because he was color coordinated..but he has guts to wear color and even hand sewn sequins on his shirt! You go Kee Hua Chee!!!!!

For me, the French Fashion soiree was NOT just another fashion show but...I actually went...."Good job", is there another one like that?

Hoep you guys enjoyed it as much as I did....now you know how to pair your favourite French outfits....Let me go try first before I advise...aiks! but anyhow, good luck trying to be a mademoiselle~

The Best Ramly Burger in town(PJ and KL included)

I promised you guys in my previous post that I am going to share my best kept food secret in Malaysia to all of you! Right here, right now...it's for all those Ramly burger fans out there..... Now you know where to get your Ramly burger fix when you are craving one of those tasty, succulent burgers! And for those not in the country and are craving for one..... you know where to head to when you land...but at least you can have vivid dreams of your favourite burger after reading this post right????hehehehee...I remember clearly how I would complain to kendra or whoever was listening when I was in Hawaii "How I wish I had a Ramly burger in my hand for supper!!!" gggrrrr....the build up angst of NOT having my Ramly burger rightaway is now a DISTANT memory:) Hallelujah!!!!

Now to reveal the place where the BEST RAMLY BURGER in town is located.......I can't be selfish anymore..... although I have to wait an hour for it, I will(the current waiting time is a minimum of 20 mins for a burger by the way)

It's located in front of Restoran Kopitiam Bintang, opposite the food court in Damansara Uptown....The same row as the corner Starbucks and 7/11

You will never miss the stall

The menu for your viewing pleasure:)

And now to show you his secret...sssshhhhhh...why it tastes so DAM GOOD!

First, he grills the patty

Not just on the outside but he cuts it in half and grills in between too..

After grilling the patty, he spreads the egg, for what?!

So, he can put your burger patty, cheese, and sauces wrapped inside the egg...ingenious!

By the way, they have hot dogs too....

After that, he grills the buns...that makes your burger crispy and warm!

For those who don't like their meat wrapped in an egg, we have the Burger Benjo Special.... where the egg is placed on top of the meat patty...

Do you realize the amount of sauces he puts on the egg! That's probably the trick..the myriad of sauces that he puts in each piece of meat and egg

Ta-da, once he cooks the meat wrapped in egg, he garnishes the patty even more with vegetables, onions, and sauces! Explosion of taste in your mouth!

The final product of my Burger Double Cheese...salivating already looking at the picture!

You don't know how happy I was to take my first bite after playing 2 hours worth of badminton(Yes, I DO exercise once in a blue moon...eep) and taking so many pictures of the proccess!!

He didn't believe it was that good! Thought I was probably lying....Nope! After he tried it, he wanted to go for seconds:p

Ben already knew the GREATNESS and novelty of this Ramlee burger..we usually don't mind waiting to get it!

Steven calls it the "Awesome burger"! I guess he REALLY enjoyed it judging by his face! LOL!

Of course, a picture with The Ramly burger sifu! I always tell people that he's the one that teaches other Ramly burger cooks how to make Ramlee burgers! But the rest clearly CAN'T compare!

Guys, you don't know how excited I was to write this post because: 1) I truly love his Ramly burger, 2)People keep asking me why it's so great..now you guys can go try it out for yourself*winks*, 3) Was pretty tired writing about restaurants, thought I highlight a local delicacy for all my foreign readers and US friends wondering what it is, and anyway, Sharing is caring right?!?

But, don'tlar go and order eight at one go alright????I see many people doing that,ZzzzZZzz.... I waited almost 40 minutes before.....Go and try and tell me what you guys think? and whether there are better ones out there....BUT I highly Doubt so:)
