The Ancient town of Lijiang[Part 1]

I know I told you guys I will be updating from China BUT, what I did not know was the fact that besides blocking twitter and facebook, they also block blogspot AND youtube....... Crazy right?!? They try to control social media basically...but for how long more??????

Let's forget that as I am back in Malaysia(home sweet home). Did not like the food, toilets, communication problem and basically many rude people in China, but what made the trip worth it besides my conference is my adventure to Lijiang!

We went there by car but please DO NOT go from Kunming to Lijiang by car, your best bet will be to take an airplane because the roads were small, everyone keeps overtaking one another on a one lane road, and worse still, there comes a part where the road dissapears and it becomes muddy and bumpy!OMG! It was our worst nightmare because we thought we were lost in the dark.....Did I also mention it was 9 hours????????????

Started the journey from Kunming at 1.30pm and finally arrived at Lijiang about 10.30pm!!! Thank God the hotel was quaint and antiquated...Old world charm...They basically refurbished the olden day Chinese house into a boutique hotel(Shofo)

AAhhh...Heaven...Huge room with three beds

Even had a computer

Breakfast area

Eating while overlooking the pond

You can learn about the different types of tea in the afternoon...Loved this service because I only drink tea and water...EEPPS!

Once you step out, there's tons of shopping nestled in these traditional Chinese buildings(from thousands of years! WOW)

Doesn't this scene remind you of those old Hong Kong movies?

Does anyone know what is written behind me?I'm guessing something like..the entrance?

Just had to take a picture of Pizza Hut and KFC within this ancient buildings..

Some Lijiang cake which I was soo greedy for...but tastes bad.....just flour with sugar...ack!

Simply walking in the town area itself brings back memories of the olden days(yea right...not like I was there in the 1500's)

LOL! This is hillarious...Just had to show you guys..untill now..I couldn't stop cracking up when I read it... I think it's suppose to say... "No open burning here please"

Swoon....Pretty waterfall near the entrance towards the ancient town of Lijiang

I don't know what it is about this town, but it's a magical place that I didn't want to leave...I loved it!!! Minus the terrible drive , it's was definitely worth a trip there if you are in China.

There's going to be more on the scenic part of Lijiang after this...Stay Tuned...Besides the beauty of it, will tell you guys about how I was ripped off...China is an EXPENSIVE place!
