My Yoga Sanctuary! Time to keep your body healthy, wealthy, and wise?

When I was in Hawaii, my mom would always nag me saying I kept falling sick due to the fact that I am "inactive", always holed up in the lab or at home in front of the computer. By the way, I cannot deny the fact that it is VERY true...my only form of exercise was walking to and from the bus stop...... But due to my mom's insistence to take up something, anything that makes me move....I decided to sign up for a yoga class. Honestly, I have to admit, I wasn't really willing to pay for classes too over there(KIAMSAP syndrome) which amounted to triple what I would normally pay in Malaysia. After trying it out for the first month, I realized that yoga actually helped my breathing and even though the movements are slow, I still manage to raise my heartbeat up!!!! Weeeeeee~!!!!!!

In Malaysia, however, I picked up another sport which was badminton...it is definitely a fun sport but I am not really good at it....Have you watched lazy people play sports..Yeap..that's ME! I stand on the same spot during the whole game and my poor partner has to do the running..whoever it is...so most of the time.... my hands move..my feet is stagnant!!!! *Sorry Steven, William, Dayton, and Ben who are the ones usually partnering me*

To up my ante and make my mom happy(she still nags by the way... my parents use to be state runners, hence the constant dissapointment in me and my brothers because we don't do sports at all!), I have decided to take up yoga again in Malaysia, a new yoga center near my place...YES! Proximity is a HUGE factor for me.... it's located in the Bukit Utama Condominiums which is 5 minutes drive from my place...very convenient *wink*

It's called My Yoga Sanctuary

I love the classroom because it's huge and there's windows to the side.... natural air ventilation...

Taught by Azmi Samdjaga who's an expert in yoga..he has over 10 years of experience...and even has a diploma in Ashtanga yoga! Impressive!

Jessica, Erica and Crystal were in the yoga class too..... :) Clearly, doing very well!

Tim says he can't believe that I can still smile while doing yoga poses...it's not easy considering we have to contort our bodies!!! eeekkk!! But he forgot...I have dance(ballet, modern, and hip hop) and cheerleading background...teehee*

Precariously balancing on one leg..reminds me of my cheerleading stances...the difference is yoga is on the ground whereas in cheerleading, I'm usually balancing on one foot up in the air!!!!

Flying!!!

An easier pose..*phew* I realize most yoga poses make you look up into the sky....In our case, the ceiling..maybe they should put stars up there.....better view!

All of us doing the snake pose.... glowing from head to toe after a session of yoga....

In my opinion, Yoga is a good form of exercise not just for the body, but also for the mind! It trains you to be still and concentrate because if you don't, you might just fall!!!! hahahahaha....Furthermore, you can keep agile and limber....trust me on this...I saw some older people, probably in their 50's that could do a shoulder stand whereas we younger ones...can't even balance on our torso's! aiks!! Time to YOGA more so I don't lose out..... ehehehe..... If you live around the area and want to join me for yoga, you can come check My Yoga Sanctuary out at:

C3-05-1, 1 Bukit Utama Condo, Cangkat Bukit Utama, 47800 Petaling Jaya, Selangor Darul Ehsan, Malaysia.
Phone : 018-355 3676, Fax : +1 234 567 1098

OR you can just check out their website at:

P.S. I am learning to provide more details for you guy's because I keep getting comments from people saying I don't provide enough information.....eeeeppppppp*

A cute boy here needs your help!!!!

My friends call me up at different hours of the day to come out expecting that I would be free(not that I am comnplaining)........But most of the time, I am not......aiks! Besides juggling writing my comprehensive papers, reserch, hosting events, modelling, and now lecturing....I usually help out at the homeless center during my free time!!!!

I have always wanted to go "on the groud" and help people, spending time and effort as I feel that I would like to help them and experience what they are going through.... I also feel that these people need to know that there are others out there who actually care about them. I finally got to do that through feeding the homeless at the Kechara center. My first experience was a little scary and exciting as we started distributing food at 11pm to homeless people in different areas around Kuala Lumpur. The first person we approach was "new" to our head(newbies are lead by the senior volunteers), he was staring at a newspaper, fiddling with something sitting next to a closed shop, so our head told us he might be doing drugs...It was very dark, so we hesitantly approach him and told him we wanted to pass him food.....he accepted happily and totally blew my expectations away(after brainwashing from people to stay away from homeless people)......

They weren't dangerous or hostile at all!!!!:)

There was even one homeless guyt I met that could speak 6 languages!! Amazing..I realize that these homeless people(mostly in the older crowd) got in the position because their family left them, didn't support them, or was pushed into those circumstance.....:( It's an amazing experience meeting these people.....Anyway, enough said.... I started helping out during the day at the soup kitchen which was fully equipped because they needed people.....

The huge signboard along Jalan Imbi

Very proper, the homeless come and collect food and drinks at the window

Uncle Ng who deals with getting cards ready...everyone has a "membership card"

With Polo and Uncle Ng

See that guy at the window...he(Justin) is one of the main guys running the soup kitchen! Very hardworking and caring...

Originally started out in here.... counselling and trying to find out who is job-ready.... they even have medicines for the homeless here

And washing machines + dryers for the homeless to wash their clothes which is essential so they don't stink...they only have one set of clothes on their backs:(

Now, why I am asking you for help is because while I was volunteering, I have established a very close bond to this little boy named Polo! He doesn't know his real name because he was left in a rented room by his original parents when he was a baby...The poor boy is being raised by the landlord of the apartment he was left at...the landlord is an old man in his 60's and does not have the capabilities to raise the boy anymore....

Therefore, Polo is "stateless" which means he doesn't have proper identification in Malaysia.... And he is not allowed to go to our local schools...He is now 9 years old...and doesn't know how to read and write...but through my interactions with him...I have come to find him as an extremely bright child! In order for this boy to get an identity, HE NEEDS TO BE LEGALLY ADOPTED BY A MALAYSIAN COUPLE!!!!

WHOEVER IS INTERESTED OR KNOWS SOMEONE WHO IS INTERESTED...PLEASE EMAIL ME AT MSCHOO116@GMAIL.COM OR MESSAGE ME HERE....

At Kechara where the homeless get to sit and dine...to give them a dining experience they wouldn't usually have...

He is really cute and sweet....pls help!

If you can save a live from destruction(e.g., not having an education, being poor, etc.), and is very interested.....please take this case into consideration....

When you are about to lose hope in humankind....

For those who have been cheated by others selling fake, overpriced goods to them, or even by a friend or worse still, a family member...., for those who are bitter because they don't believe in the good in humankind anymore...... I think you should read this post....

I am one person who truly believes in the good, and "happy" thoughts....people who have known me for quite awhile or probably even after the first few times will know what kind of person I am..... In the category of "Happy-go-lucky, naive, Nice, some even label me NUN(just because I don't partake in activities after 12 or drink does not make me UN-FUN Ok ppl!!!)...lol.....Recently, I have been more active in socializing for many reasons, one to have my own talk show to help youth and the issues they are facing...two, I have also been emceeing many events..building a platform for myself...

Q and A during KLIMS

Crazy expressions for my biggest youth event(An event close to my heart as my talk show will be along those lines)

Love my interactions with the crowd(especially children) during the Proton 1 Malaysia roadshow

Although I love emceeing/ hosting events and videos, I don't know whether to be scared when people start telling me.....

"Mei Sze, This is not the industry for you because you are too nice and people will cheat you easily"

And guess what, I don't believe them...and Yes, I did get cheated on two times so far and also got entangled in drama which I don't want to be in....... but up till now..I still believe in the good in people...You are probably thinking...

"This girl is really STUPID!"

But you know what?!? I trust in the good and I am writing this post because the past week has opened my eyes to how good a person close to me is.... When I started losing hope due to a slew of events that happened over the past week not to me but to people around me which inadvertently involved me..... BL's good heart restored my faith..... the story goes...

"One day, BL came to tell me that he will be selling properties for an Australian developer who cheats Malaysians off their money by selling to us for a much higher rate... I was adamant he didn't do the project but he can't not do it because the boss of his company is tied down(as the horrible developer didn't want to pay them backdated commissions)........ Over the weekend.... he didn't work hard to even push sales and was very de-motivated...guess what?!? a buyer all of a sudden wanted to buy towards his last few hours... he explained to the buyer up front about the project..the truth..bare neccessities..... the buyer STILL wanted to buy...he had no choice..he asked the buyer to approach the horrible developer for a discount...the developer even wanted to give a 7% discount which is ALOT(shows how much he marked up the price!)..... and BL got pissed off when he found out the developer was lying to them.... and he realized..."

"SHIT, I CANNOT sell this property to them because they are being lied too and stand to lose more than 100k"

And guess what?!? He was WILLING to give up his commission which amounted to 7k(alot for a fresh graduate) because he didn't want to cheat someone of their HARD EARN money...PLus, he knows he can earn that 7k or more the HONEST way....

Now tell me, how many people do you know who is like that? Alot of people I know would have closed the deal in a blink of an eye.....

Although sometimes I may doubt and get scared when people ask me to shy away from the entertaintment industry... I will preservere because I see BL and he renewed my faith in good hearts and in humankind..... I know there is good out there and he made me believe even stronger in the goodness in people... Although I am also like that and I may get cheated on many times, I know I will be hurt...but GET back up and learn from it....

For those who cheat, and betray for a living... All I can say is that...there will always be KARMA( Good luck!)

Another interesting tidbit for you guys to believe in the good of humankind and learn from the Japanese:

1. There was no looting after the quake( if this happened in USA or any industrialized countries, there will most likely be daylight robbery), although everyone is starving, people still lined up to buy whatever little they had left in grocery stores

Taken from The Star newspaper

2. Japanese people would give way to ambulance and emergency crews on roads for 5 to 6 HOURS and be stuck in a jam than not let them through

3. Some girls stood in line to collect candy from Disney land to bring to the refuge camps for children;)

Japan is a collectivist country and they clearly showed their unity and compassion in times of hardship...... This is what we can learn from them...NOT what they should LEARN from this disaster( as per quoting a certain insensitive first lady of Malaysia)

Hope this helped those out there who is bitter about life and is skeptical towards other people.....There's hope....always believe....

xoxo

P.S. Thank you BL for showing me and now the rest of the world that there are good and kind hearted people out there...

Jazz Fresh Food Review - Moe De cafe (Anime cafe) with hot policewoman waitresses!

[Advertorial]

Judging by my title, I am pretty sure I got all of you guys excited huh? It didn't just get male species excited but it got me a Female very interested!!!! My eyes popped out when I saw all the cute waitresses serving food in their uniforms...some of them truly looked like anime characters.....

Are all of you wondering where it is already...hold on a second...did I tell u also that they have tons of "manga" for all you fans out there?!? And the decor is so interesting...with bars all around..I was wondering what it was...but as you can guess...it's meant to look like a prison! Sexy eh?!? Wanna take a good look at what I am talking about?

Moe De Cafe is in K Gallery which is a new building in Bandar Menjalara, pretty easy to spot...

Really huge interior, ample tables and chairs for manga fans to chill and read their favourite comics or just hang out with friends

Look at all the posters!!!

A giant robot at the corner....I like!

There's even an upstairs which is more secluded for "serious" readers.... right in front of the books...

Low tables and cushions for people who wants to go back and forth from the upstairs bookshelves

*Manga fans* They were reading when I was there...so sweet to let me snap some pictures of them:) Thank you!!!!

Bri, a Bleach fan???????? I used to watch the anime but got bored after they had too many episodes...aiks!

My turn:p

The cute policewoman handcuffing us...be real SCARED!aaaahhhhh!!!

Now time to stop camwhoring!blek! and EAT!

Once I sat down, lo and behold, I found out that they stocked one of the magazines I came out in.....*blushes*

While waiting for food...being restless in my seat, I suddenly saw one of the policewoman bringing a keg of Jazz Beer to our table...... Can you imagine?!?! They have alcohol at a place like this???? This place is seriously a jack of all trades!!! *Thums up*

I found the mini Jazz Beer keg extremely cute too! Cute girl + keg of beer...does that rhyme?!? hahahaha

Plus, I found out alot more about beer in one night than I would  since I became legal to drink!!! If you follow my blog or you are pretty close to me...you would probably know that I am a total health freak!! I only eat white meat, drink water or herbal tea, and mostly eat organic food....ZzzzZZZ...boring I KNOW but it helps my weak  constitution...

To my delight....~squeeelll~ I found that Jaz Fresh beer has no added preservatives or additives... and it is unfiltered which means that there is "live" yearst inside the beer that keeps it ALIVE!!! Doesn't that sound organic and nutritious to you??!!?? My mom always told me... The best food is the ones that are Fresh and ALIVE!! Clearly, Jaz Fresh is following the theme of HEALTH!:) Me likey!!!

Cheers everyone!!!!!!! I have finally tasted Jazz beer after hearing so much about it from my friend who did a video on it.... As you know..I don't drink!!! But due to insistence from SOME people, I tried a few gulps...and it was suprisingly refreshing and light to the tastebuds( I am btw quoting a friend of mine, William because I agree with him wholeheartedly)...Now you know what to drink when you don't want to get drunk!*teehee*

*Oohh... a tip for all you Jaz beer fans out there, your Jaz Fresh beer is best stored at 3 celcius...and given that Jaz Fresh is made from natural ingredients, it only has a shelf life of 7 days*

For all you hungry beavers out there....the food is placed in order of my preference ok?!? So don't blame me if you don't have the same taste:p

My favourite of all time is the thousand layer tofu(RM8.90)....I would say it's even the best tofu I have ever tasted, it's not only soft but the taste is special when it's mixed with chicken floss in between....I still dream about it when I see the word tofu.....

Black pepper chicken chop(RM15.90) comes in a close 2nd... Not because of how cute the presentation is(or maybe)...hehe....but because the sauce has just enough spice mixed in with the black pepper taste..... and served with rice = HEAVEN!

This dish is a MUST for SOUP lovers.... The Special Chicken Mushroom pot(RM14.90)! It doesn't just smell and taste healthy...but it's really chicken soup for the soul...You feel all zinged up inside after drinking it....

My recommendation to people who love fried stuff..the butter chicken bento(RM17.90)...Although I don't like fried stuff much, I liked this dish because of the butter sauce on top of the chicken which gives it the flavour it needs.... Plus, it comes with great sides!!!

Last but not least, I fancied the Fried sphagetti with XO sauce(RM9.90) because it has all kinds of tangy seafood in it mixed with veggies!!! And they added a twist to the dish by making it spicy(be warned that it may be a lil too spicy for some)....ZING

As I mentioned, the restaurant was generous enough to stuff us to the brim with food...... There was MORE! For those prawn lovers out there:

They have spicy prawn(RM14.90)

Assam Prawns(RM 18.90) for those who have bigger appetites

Pineapple Cheese baked rice with prawns(RM19.90)

And for those who just want to munch on something while enjoying their Jaz Fresh beer

The spicy chicken(RM6.90) goes perfectly well with it
After a hearty meal, some more interesting finds for pictures before heading home.....

Doraemon!! We probably abused the poor doll!lol...don't put us on youtube PLEASE!!

A must with the cute policewomen before leaving....

What can I say about Moe De Cafe is that I truly love the concept of the restaurant...with all the different manga's, waitresses and decorations which also follows the Japanese anime theme...I swear there's a certain criteria for the waitresses in terms of height and looks..they are so ~kawaii~!! And not to forget, they serve not just a variety of affordable and tasty food, but a range of beverages...from smoothies to alcohol(the alcohol bit really surprised me...)

So...I told a few friends about it, and decided to head there again on a Friday night...which was extremely packed!!!!!! I suggest maybe going on a weekday if you want seats.......

THey are prisoners of Moe De cafe...how come they get beer in prison cells?!?

Caught by a policewoman for committing the "bad pick up line felony"

I am a person that truly likes the extraordinary....So, if you guys know other restaurants that have themes to it, fill me in ok, don't hold gems like that to yourself:p

xoxo
